Progress Summary

This week, we prepared a multi-area network map complete with network devices, endpoints, IP address scheme, and VLAN scheme. This will be used to test the simulators and will be the starting point for the final networking manual. The team is beginning to properly familiarize themselves with the various simulators.

Meeting Summary

Met on 9/26 and 9/29 for 15 minutes each. We discussed plans for beginning the testing phase of our network simulator selection process.

Key Events

Network Map created for testing Simulators.

Member Activities

Team Member Major Tasks and Contributions Workload (hours)
Justin McCannon Created detailed network map for simulator testing. Modified simulator requirements for performance vectors per project sponsor recommendations for more granularity. Added documents section and weekly update 2 and milestone 1 posts on class website. 6
Azm Uddin We had meetings twice this week to discuss this project and network simulators. Watched videos and read a lot of online articles to get familiar with GNS3, EVE-NG and cisco packet tracer. 5
Michael McInnis Installed Cisco packet tracer and GNS3. Working to get more familiar with both simulations. We also met twice during the week to discuss the project and which direction was best for us as a group. 5
Tiffany Nguyen Became familiar with Cisco packet tracer, GNS3, EVE-NG. Watched videos/tutorials for them and researched the software. Met with team twice to discuss what we needed to get done this week 5
Nidhi Marsonia Getting hands on training on Cisco packet tracer and GNS3. Watched the course series suggested by Justin to refresh the memory on the concept. Attempt to build a simple network on these two candidates and test them against the list of few requirements. Stayed in touch with the team to be on the track. 6
